How to grow healthy hair in 6 simple steps

How to grow healthy hair
Ever wondered why your hair gets less easy to manage, more frizzy and generally drier? Or why your hair seems to never get past a certain length?
Maybe you have tried moisturizing shampoos & conditioners
but you still feel like your hair could be better? I was there too!

This is why

Many soaps and shampoos, especially the ones containing sulfates, strip your hair of its natural oils,
and it’s those oils that smooth the individual strands of your hair, lock in moisture at your scalp, and prevent breakage. Whilst washing your hair less often is a great first step, I am not a big fan of the “no poo” method (as in: not washing your hair with shampoo anymore). The oils that our hair naturally generates aren’t ideal; after a while they can make your hair look limp, and greasy. The longer you go between washes, the more dirt and oils will build up on your scalp. This build up creates more good than harm for both your hair and scalp.

So, how can you get the best of both worlds? Healthy, lustrous and strong hair,
whilst maintaining hygiene and good volume?

Saar Soleares hair routine

Years ago my hair was completely dried out & damaged by heat tools & using the wrong products.
With these 6 simple steps & patience I brought my damaged hair back to health and so can you!

1. Find a natural shampoo

Wash your hair max. twice a week with a good natural shampoo & conditioner without sulfates or other chemicals that dry out your hair. Most regular shampoos work in the beginning but damage your hair over time. We have amazing hair products in the online pharmacy
that are both natural, gentle and effective.

2. Use Hair Oils

Hair Oils help exfoliate, moisturize, and improve circulation to the scalp so that you are addressing hair health at the root. Massage a small amount of the oil into your scalp properly then spread down through your hair strands. You can also heat the oil a little and apply warm (but not hot!) oil for extra effect .
It's important not to use too much oil, since it will be harder to wash out .
Leave it in overnight and shampoo out in the morning. You don't need to use much and I advise to do it only max. twice a week. I recommend using Argan Oil or Saar Soleares Hair oil based on an ancient Italian recipe.  (Find Saar Soleares Hair Oil here)

3. Massage your scalp

Take time regularly for a nice scalp massage, because it increases the blood flow to the scalp is very beneficial for hair health and stimulates hair growth!

4. Add Oils to your Conditioner

For an extra boost of moisture to your hair,
squeeze out a few drops of hair oil into your conditioner, right before applying it to your hair.
Leave it in for a few minutes, and then rinse it out as normal.

You can also add a few drops of ethereal oils (1-2 drops) to your conditioner to stimulate hair growth. My favorite is Peppermint as I love the smell and it works for me, but you can also add Lavender or Rosemary Oil.

5. Don’t use heat tools regularly

Let your hair dry naturally and find styling methods that do not require heat tools as much as possible.

6. Take hair supplements & eat more protein

Eating a well-balanced diet with adequate protein intake is important for optimal hair growth & healthy hair. We often forget that skin or hair problems start from within and that we might be lacking crucial vitamins or minerals. I have always preferred getting my nutrients from food, rather than supplements, until recently I had some health issues. I have been supplementing my diet with Multi Vitamins (from Florence, available in our online pharmacy) and saw an immediate effect on my health & hair! For hair health it is especially important to have the following vitamins & minerals: Vitamin B-complex, vitamin B- 12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Omega 3 fatty acids, Iron, Zinc, Biotin and Vitamin E.

Also : eat enough protein! I take 50 grams of protein or more per day.

Nursing damaged hair back to health does not happen overnight, but in my experience you will start seeing results within 4-8 weeks of doing these steps. Your hair will start growing faster, look healthy & regain lustre.
